Morgan Hill RV Campground WWTP

Efficient treatment system designed for seasonal flow variations and recreational vehicle facilities with compact footprint and low maintenance requirements.

Santa Clara County, California
Completed 2024
25,000 GPD Capacity

Project Overview

Morgan Hill RV Campground needed a reliable Wastewater Treatment solution to handle the unique challenges of recreational vehicle facilities, including highly variable flows, seasonal occupancy patterns, and diverse waste characteristics from temporary visitors.

CIIG designed a flexible, packaged treatment system capable of efficiently processing wastewater during peak summer seasons while maintaining stable operation during low-occupancy winter months. The system incorporates advanced process controls to automatically adjust to changing conditions.

Unique Challenges

  • Extreme seasonal flow variations (10:1 peak to minimum)
  • Variable waste strength from different RV types
  • Limited space between existing RV sites
  • Need for quiet, odor-free operation near guests
  • Remote location requiring reliable, low-maintenance design
  • Groundwater protection in sensitive watershed area

Innovative Design Solution

Our engineering team developed a modular treatment approach with automated load-following capabilities. The system features multiple treatment trains that can be brought online or taken offline based on actual flow conditions, ensuring optimal treatment efficiency year-round while minimizing energy consumption during low-demand periods.
